Brilliant Garden Safari weekend
The Halton Gardening Group will be able to buy new plants for the village with the additional funds.
Visitors appreciated the different activities associated with the Open Village concept involving The Centre @ Halton – which held a very successful Crafts and Community Fair and had an exceptionally busy Coffee Shop – local churches, the Greyhound pub, Red Door Cafe and the Co-Housing/Forgebank Walk.
In addition, a great time was had by visitors to Halton Mill Arts and Crafts fair, who were able to buy fantastic jewellery, embroidered cards, fused glass, wooden toys, silk paintings and other products from local craftspeople.
The cafe was so popular it completely sold out of cakes! And the exhibition of art by Mill artists was well received – “An excellent range of beautiful, interesting and highly skilled work which I very much enjoyed “. The Mill’s art show continues till the end of July on the mezzanine floor.
Thank you to all the organisers in the Halton Gardening Group for all their hard work in making this event a success and thanks also to those opening up their gardens to members of the public and to all the other people who made an organisational input.
