Great Bands night at the The Centre
The major improvements in the stage and lighting in The Centre @ Halton means it is now a major local venue for musical and performance events. The latest successful evening was a great bands night on Saturday November 17th organised by Bill Haddow and Bev James and with Sam Haddow on the P A. This was a fantastic, varied night of music and fun especially aimed at the 14+ age group.
Amongst the bands which played and entertained a large number of local youngsters and their friends were A Second Too Soon, The Excessive, the Sun Giant and the Charm. They all had their individual styles and music types with most playing grungy rock music. Solo artists Anthony Battersby and Brendan Cleary were also much appreciated by the audience, with Brendan starting the night with a fine set of songs.
There was a special performance by local youth worker and organiser of the Halton Hangout, Steven Naylor and he’s already been signed up for other local gigs.
Not only was the evening a good event, it was also part of The Centre’s fund raising events programme and the £300+ raised will contribute to the kitchen refurbishment.
Because of the success of this bands night, another will be organised at The Centre in early March.
