Events, activities and classes
There is an amazing programme of classes, activities and courses over the next few months mostly in The Centre but also elsewhere in Halton.
Total Body Conditioning hosted its last class on Thursday April 3rd after starting with a small grant of £100 8 years ago. Thanks to Daniel who has taken the class for the last 6 months. There is e a new class taking its place starting on Thursday 24th April from 7 to 8pm. An INSANITY Fitness Programme will be run by instructor Jennie Edmondson whose tel no is 07540 705309.
Paul Darwent’s very popular Enjoy-a-Ball is offering 3 – 9 year olds some great ball skill development in the Easter holidays – on Thursday 10th and Fri 11th April at the Centre. To book places contact Paul on paul.darwent@enjoy-a-ball.com
On Thursday 10th April at 7pm, Halton’s Community Hydro is hosting an information event at The Centre. This is a chance to meet the Directors and get an update on progress. For more information see www.haltonlunehydro.org
On Friday 11th April there is another Luncheon Club for the over 55s – with a Relaxation session and a great lunch, all for £4. It starts at 10am and usually lasts till around 1.30pm. On Saturday 12th April, from 10am to 12 noon at the United Reformed Church, High Rd, Halton. The Halton WI are hosting an a fundraising event selling coffee, cake and crafts wuth all proceedsgoing to the St. Johns Hospice Appeal. Contact Jane Mealor Tel: 01524 812702 for more information.
On Sunday 20th April, from 11.30am, St. Wilfrid’s Nursing Home is hosting an Easter Egg Hunt. All children attending will receive an Egg. Tel 01524 811229 for more information.
On Saturday 3rd May at 7pm the Halton WI is hosting a Criminal Cabaret Show with After Dark Murder Mystery Events at The Centre. The theme is Grease so everyone attending can sing and dance to their favourite songs. Tickets are £13 including a light supper. B.Y.O drink. Fancy Dress is optional. On Saturday 9th August will be the highlight of the year – the Halton Fest Anyone who is able to help with this great event or would like to have a stall or help out on the day please email Nick Lakin and Adam Lucas as they are organising the event hfest@hotmail.co.uk. Help is also needed to organise the skate park event on the same day.
Finally The Centre is looking for volunteers to help put up markers out for an Orienteering Course that has been mapped out around Halton – which will be a great addition to the facilities available in the area. Please contact Centre Chairman Brian Jefferson piperswood@toucansurf.com
