Children’s Nearly New Sale success
The Centre’s Children’s Nearly New Sale on Saturday October 18th was a great success. Over 370 GBP was raised from the sale, the raffle and the coffee shop to contribute to the cost of refurbishing the Centre, and especially the hall kitchen.
All 20 tables were sold early and a huge variety of children’s goods including nursery equipment, toys, clothes and some household items was on sale. People came from as far away as Cockerham to take advantage of the bargains on sale, with most attenders coming – as expected – from Halton, Caton and Lancaster.
Toys were particularly popular with buyers this year. The new cake supplier in the Coffee Shop was especialy popular, contributing significantly to this total.
Organiser Maureen Richardson said:
“ We are pleased that we had a full hall of 22 tables so were able to offer families a very good selection of clothes and toys.
There were slightly fewer people attending than in March but still a good turn out, and we are pleased that most stall holders were ‘satisfied’ or ‘very satisfied’ with the response to their sale items. We worked with a new cake supplier who provided a wonderful range of biscuits and cakes which were very much appreciated – and we look forward to working with her in the future.
Thank you to everyone who supported this event and the volunteers who worked so hard in the hall and in the coffee shop”
The next Nearly New Sale will be held in March and already the tables are being booked. For more information and to book a table, contact the organiser Maureen on tel: 01524 811316
