Great night on the skatepark
On Friday October 3rd, The Centre celebrated a successful summer working with and enjoying the company of many children and young people .
To thank everyone for their support, on a fine evening there was a well attended Skate Park Jam giving youngsters a chance to show their skate board and bike skills to their friends and parents.
There was a real mix of ages and abilities getting along and coming up with some great tunes on the DJ’s decks. £40 was made on wrist band sales which will go towards the funding of future events.
Help came from lots of young people and parents. Especial thanks must go to PCSO Paul Shepherd, Carl Richardson for cooking burgers, our Coffee Shop volunteers and Brian Houghton for bringing his juggling equipment and sharing his skills.
Organiser Maureen Richardson said:
” We wanted to give the local youngsters and other users of our skate park a special event to end the summer holidays. We have really appreciated their good behaviour and hope they will continue to make regular use of our great facilities.
Thanks to those who attended and all our supporters and volunteers for a very enjoyable evening.”
