Ceilidh is a huge success
The Ceilidh held at The Centre on Saturday November 22nd, with The Riot Band, was a sell out and a huge success. It was the first time that The Riot Band had played at The Centre and they did not disappoint.
They are an experienced Bury and Bolton based Ceilidh band which plays venues in Lancashire, Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Yorkshire and throughout the North West and North Wales with a high standard much appreciated by the dancers.
The band had been booked through Francis from the Halton co-housing complex and a number of residents from there and from elsewhere in Halton attended and very nuch enjoyed the evening. There was also a good turn out from the American Square Dance Group and their friends.
But the Ceilidh attracted dancers from much further afield – there were 2 people from Manchester, but also from as far away as Bristol and Edinburgh.
A highlight of the evening was the wonderful Jacob’s Join which included a wide range of food items provided by all the people who attended.
The organiser was Centre Manager Maureen Richardson, who said:
” We were very pleased that the Ceilidh evening was so well attended and enjoyed by everyone. A group from Halton celebrated a birthday party on the night and these celebrations contributed to the great atmosphere.
Proceeds from the evening will again contribute to the cost of much needed refurbishments to the Centre. so we are delighted that over £780 was raised.
I would like to thank everyone for the food items they contrbuted and also the many volunteers who helped before the event, and on the noght, to make it such a succrss.”
