Good year for over 55s Luncheon Club
The Luncheon Club for the over 55s is now a very popular regular event on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month from 10am to 1.30pm. This gives time for an informal talk or other enjoyable activity as well as a leisurely high quality cooked lunch at a very reasonable £4.
The Luncheon Club re-startedafter the summer break on Friday September 12th and since then there has been a regular programme of talks, demonstrations and opportunities to purchase wood carvings, Christmas wreaths and jewellery.
Thanks very much to organiser Maureen, volunteer helpers, guest speakers and most of all to Angela Kirby, Jane Greenwood and their assistant for the wonderful meals.
The last session of 2014 is on December 12th – with a Christmas Party and the Halton Pre-School group singing Christmas Carols
The first luncheon after the Christmas break will be on Friday January 9th and information about the schedule of talks will be issued as soon as it is finalised.
Everyone now needs to BOOK IN ADVANCE each week with Maureen Richardson on tel: 01524 811316
or by e-mail: Centremanager@haltoncentre.org
Please also contact Maureen if you are able to help co-ordinate the sessions, or prepare or serve refreshments, or help with transport.
Those attending the Luncheon Club might also be interested in the regular Fit for the Future sessions run by Age UK Lancashire every Wednesday from 11am to 12noon.
