Mid summer news bulletin

By Janet | August 10, 2015 | Category Uncategorized

THANK YOU TO THE 5 VOLUNTEERS who helped us paint the User Kitchen and touch up the paintwork in the meeting rooms on Sunday.  The User Kitchen off the Main Hall is progressing well.

NEW DECKED SEATING AREA FOR THE COFFEE SHOP  This has given space for 4 tables overlooking the children’s  play area.  We have also increased our menu to include jacket potatoes, burgers, chips and yogurts to cater for those wanting a little more than our freshly made sandwiches and cakes.

ENJOY-A-BALL starts TUESDAY11TH  WEDNESDY 12TH THURSDAY 13TH AUGUST  9am – 1pm  and continues for the next 3 weeks  (fun and games arts and crafts  for 3 – 9 year olds).  Contact Paul Darwent Email: paul.darwent@enjoy-a-ball.com Mob: 078798 96156 to book places.

TUESDAY 11th  August 7.30pm CHARITY PIANO RECITAL by prize winning  Edward Pick on at The Centre @ Halton . He is cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats an giving concerts en route. The programme includes works by Chopin, Debussy and Schubert.   See www.edwardpick.com for more details.  Tickets on the door.  Funds raised are for the Multiple  Sclerosis Society. This event has been advertised extensively throughout the district so we are hoping for a big turnout.

SATUDAY 26th September CHILDREN’S NEARLY NEW SALE  Tables are now available £10 each.  For those who have already reserved a table please confirm the booking by making your payment at the Coffee Shop Sunday to Friday 10am – 5pm during school holidays and Saturday 10am – 6pm.

AGM Thank you to all the user groups and members of the public who came to our AGM last month.  We really appreciate the support that was shown to our management committee, volunteers and user groups activities.  It shows that working together we have created a Community Centre to be proud of.

NEW ACTIVITY GROUPS Looking to the future we would like to start up a Walking Football group, a Walking Netball group and maybe a Ladies Football group.  If anyone would like to take part or would like to help organise any of the groups please contact Maureen on tel: 01524 811316

THE MULTI-USE GAMES AREA (MUGA) is available for hire whether on a regular basis or for a one off, for a children’s birthday party for example.  Why not hire the MUGA for an hour and then a meeting room to serve your own food or food purchased from the Coffee Shop?  Please call Maureen at the Centre on tel:  01524 811316 for details.

EVENTS ORGANISING GROUP We are always looking for people to help us to organise events at the Centre.  Please contact Maureen with ideas – email: centremanager@haltoncentre.org
