Millfest
A brand new one-day music festival will take place on June 18 between 3pm and midnight at Halton Mill. It will also feature a selection of local ales from Morecambe, Lancaster and Warton, food and refreshments, and activities and games for children.
Indoor and outdoor performances will take place during the day, with music from The London Klezmer Quartet, Morecambe’s Joe McCorriston, Lancaster’s Mr Ben and The Bens, Staffordshire’s Pampahoot, Halton’s The Pug Uglies and Elephant in the Room, and Carnforth’s Molly Warburton.
In the evening, the great music will continue inside the Mill, which has recently had a new mezzanine floor installed, with rock ‘n roll, rhythm and blues, funk, soul, hip-hop and rock sets from Philip James Turner and the Crow Mandala, Dirty Hands, Divide and Conker and Carpe.
Organiser Nick Lakin said:
“We’ve been working hard to create a relaxed, fun and home grown event for families during the day, with more of an adult focus including some extremely danceable sounds in the evening. Halton Mill is situated on a beautiful section of the river Lune, with pebble beaches and woodland walks just a stone’s throw away.
There’ll be hot and cold food and some fantastic local ales available too. Entry is free and open to everyone during the day, and we’d love people to come and visit this little gem of a Lune Valley location.“
Tickets for the evening session, from 7pm, are priced at £7. Over 14s only (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult). There will be a limited number of tickets available on the door.
