The Centre has registered with FareShare, a national food redistribution charity, to receive free surplus food from the TESCO in Carnforth to use at our Luncheon Club for the over 55s, Memory Cafe and for future projects set up at the Centre.
We believe this FareShare Food Cloud scheme will help to address the dual issues of food waste and food poverty and will enable us to expand and enhance the services and activities at our Centre.
Centre Manager, Maureen Richardson, said:
” Volunteers are needed to help us make the best use of this food, be it preparing meals for current groups or starting up new groups. We would like to set up projects such as healthy eating and fun with food for teenagers. if
Please do contact me on tel: 01524 811516 if you can spare some time to help.”
