Volunteering Opportunities in our Coffee Shop
With our community Coffee Shop becoming ever more popular we are looking for new volunteers – gain experience, meet new people and get involved in village life. Some of our younger volunteers have used this experience to enhance their CVs which has helped them to secure paid work elsewhere.
To help run the Coffee Shop and provide a friendly atmosphere for our customers ranging from young children to the more mature.
Young volunteers (age 14-17 years) will work alongside a responsible adult.
Hours are flexible with an average of 2-3 hours per week. Monday to Sunday.
Adult volunteers may work on their own for short periods of time but generally with the support of the Centre Manager Mon to Friday or with a Weekend Supervisor. Hours are flexible with regular shifts or holiday cover as required.
The Coffee Shop opening hours:
2pm-5pm Monday to Friday
10am-5pm Monday to Friday
Saturdays 10am-6pm and Sundays 10am-5pm.
There are also paid Supervisors in the Coffee Shop at the busiest times – weekends and school holidays.
Anyone who might be interested in volunteering in the Coffee Shop does not need to complete an application form or provide a CV. We have a very informal and friendly process for introducing volunteers to our Coffee Shop which involves only the completion of a short Registration Form and an Equal Opportunities Form.
Please do call The Centre on Tel: 01524 811316 and have an informal chat with Maureen to receive further information or call into the Coffee Shop any weekend and discuss the role with one of the Weekend Supervisors.
We are not able to offer payment but this will look great on your CV – and we can offer snacks!
