New audio loop system
The Centre is celebrating the installation of a new audio loop system upstairs, in the Coffee Shop and two meeting rooms.
This has been generously funded by the Halton Lune Hydro Trust (£1,000), by United Utilities & the Community Foundation For Lancashire (£1800) as well as £203 from JWK Solicitors under the terms of the will of a supporter of the Centre.
The system was installed by NW Audioworks Ltd on Monday 13th February and was used for the first time at the Luncheon Club for the over 55s on March 10th. It was very much appreciated by all those who attended.
Centre Manager, Maureen Richardson said:
” We are very grateful to all our sponsors for their generous grants. We have had an audio loop system in our downstairs rooms for some time, but many of the activities for our older residents are held in the upstairs meeting rooms and Coffee Shop – like the Memory Cafe, Luncheon Club and Knitter Natter group.

We are sure that this facility will be much appreciated by anyone with hearing issues.”
