Dial-a-Bus service for Halton is back!
The Dial-a-Bus service, for people with transport and mobility needs, has started up again in Halton to the relief and delight of residents in the village.
The service will pick people up from their homes between 10.30 and 10.50 am on Mondays, take them to Asda for 1½ hours shopping and a sit down in the Cafe. The driver will then help people, with their shopping, back onto the bus and return to Halton at 1pm.
The cost of this service is £4 for the return journey. Please note passengers can only fetch three supermarket bags of goods – no large articles like a TV or grow-bags for the garden.
It is hoped that people will use the service weekly but if you would like to use it fortnightly please still make an enquiry as you may be able to share your place with someone else.
The service can take up to 12 passengers including 2 with wheelchairs. There are 10 people so far who definitely want to use the service so if you are interested please contact James Glen at Integrated Transport Services at Lancashire County Council to book a place.

I would like to say well done to the people who asked to reinstate this service. It goes to show that if a few people come together and support each other changes can be made.
HAPPY SHOPPING!! Maureen Richardson Centre Manager
