Reusable cups
If you have a reusable cup or flask why not bring it to the Coffee Shop next time you want a take-away drink and save us using a non-recyclable one. The take-away cups the Coffee Shop currently use have a type of plastic coating. This is frequently used to improve functions such as water resistance, tear strength, abrasion resistance, ability to be heat sealed, etc. However there are very few places that recycle these cups. At the moment that aren’t many suppliers that make a suitable alternative which is recyclable and where they can be sourced they are prohibitively expensive at present so we can’t make changes just yet. Plastic straws are another problem and it is hard to find cartons of drinks without straws so we are limited that way as well. We are committed to recycling as much as we can. Once more manufacturers make changes we can look for alternatives.
