Duke of Edinburgh Award – opportunities in the Coffee Shop
Become a volunteer
Since the Coffee Shop opened in 2013 we have had a steady stream of students working towards their volunteer module of the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Perhaps you know someone who might be interested, please let them know. Young volunteers (age 14-17 years) work alongside a responsible adult to help run the Coffee Shop and provide a friendly atmosphere for our customers. Hours are flexible with an average of 2-3 hours per week.
We will have places available for students on Saturdays and Sundays during the school holidays at Easter and in the summer. Some of our Duke of Edinburgh Award volunteers have used this experience to enhance their CVs which has helped them to secure paid work elsewhere. We can’t offer payment but being a volunteer for the Coffee Shop will look great on your CV – and we can offer snacks!
