The Centre hosts a MEMORY CAFE on the 1st and 3rd Fridays in the month from 11 am to 12.30 pm.
Memory Cafe at the Coffee Shop provides a friendly social meeting place for people with all forms of memory problems, their families and friends, to access information in a supportive environment.
This venture is developing well with the service being provided by volunteers who offer support, encouragement, and a listening ear. This has attracted the interest of major research projects, including Lancaster University’s Defying Dementia project, for which they are seeking donations – see http://www.lancaster.ac.uk/giving/mind-body/tackling-alzheimers-and-parkinsons/defying-dementia/

The group have recently enjoyed an outing to a sensory farm. On another occasion two singers came to a meeting and led a sing song. Another time members of the group were invited to an afternoon tea with music and dancing and everyone had a good time.
